How do we start a new project?

1. Analysis Start point / what should we do? Are there parts missing? Is it realistic, feasible and sensible.
2. Expectations and wishes of the customer
3. Create a step-by-step plan of the phases, hours and costs
4. Creating a clean base bare to expose any rot, rust or poor repairs
5. Do it right or don't rebuild it step by step, keeping as much of the original as possible
6. Recording the process through photos and videos
7. Check whether everything is as it should be
Common mistakes when purchasing a project
-
Trust your feelings and experience , pay attention to details, imperfections and deviations and try to see through the "beautiful" stories of the selling party
-
Dare to walk away , even though this is difficult when you sometimes look for something for a long time
-
Take your time , look at the places that you cannot see well with the naked eye
-
Try to think rationally and recognize alarm bells (such as damage, tinkering, rust, wrong parts, poor maintenance, incorrect history, etc.)
-
Watch out for so-called experts or acquaintances of acquaintances who know something about something
-
Feel whether the engine is cold when starting and listen carefully for impurities or ticking sounds
-
Check the oil, this can provide clarity about the condition of the engine block
-
Color of smoke from the exhaust: blue/white?
